Try a Kidney Stone Remedy for Alleviating the Treacherous Pain

There are several home remedies for kidney stones that you can use to alleviate the pain and stay healthy at the same time.

Honey
If you have been cursed with recurring kidney stones, chances are that you are familiar with many of the prescription medications used to treat them. However, if they are still a problem, something must not be working for you. Try a natural kidney stone remedy which would actually work.

Apple cider

Apple cider vinegar is an age-old effective kidney stone remedy. Apple cider vinegar works wonders when it comes to softening and dissolving kidney stones, making them easier to pass with urine. A tablespoon a day will keep the pain away.

Vinegar

Make a hot vinegar pack. Mix half water and half vinegar together and heat to make a kidney stone remedy. Soak a towel or cloth in the mixture to make a hot vinegar pack. Place hot vinegar pack over affected area to relax tense muscles causing pain and make it easier for the stone to pass.

Basil and Honey

For preparing another helpful kidney stone remedy, mix together basil and honey in equal proportions. Take 1 tsp. of basil with 1 tsp. of honey and swallow the mixture with or without water. Kidney stones will gradually reduce in size, until they are expelled easily out of the urinary tract. This concoction should be taken once or twice a day.

Lemon juice

Remedies for kidney stone include drinking a half cup of pure lemon juice daily. This will protect against storing of calcium in the body. If there are no calcium storages, then there is no chance of worrying about formation of calcium stones, which is one type of stone that causes sufferers so much grief.

Green Tea

Brew some green tea. Green tea is again a helpful kidney stone remedy. The antioxidants in green tea inhibit the formation of kidney stones, never giving them the chance to form at all. Be careful, though, as tea is generally not recommended for those who suffer from kidney stones due to the high levels of oxolate it contains. Oxolate is the number one contributor of kidney stones, but green tea is safer than the black variety, and its benefits outweigh the slight risk.

Food and Supplements

Various remedies for kidney stones include mineral supplements and dietary constraints. Drink at least 8 glasses of water or other non-decaffeinated liquid a day. Eat small meals if eating late at night. Avoid naturally carbonated and mineral waters. Eat magnesium rich foods such as brown rice, potatoes, bananas, corn, oats, barley, rye and bran.

Eat three ounces of meat at lunch and dinner. Do not eat larger portions. Avoid excessive intake of calcium rich foods like milk and cheese. Reduce the amount of caffeine, alcohol, salt and sugar in your diet and eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.

A kidney stone remedy is fast effecting and guarantees relief in due course of time. The least you can worry of is having bad side effects which otherwise is a troubling factor with other medicines.
