Stomach Acidity or Acid Reflux or Heart Burn: Remedies
The gastric glands in out stomach releases gastric acid, called digestive fluid. It is composed of hydrochloric acid (HCl; around 0.5% or 5000 parts per million), potassium chloride (KCl) and sodium chloride (NaCl). This gastric acid plays a key role in digestion of food.
When excessive gastric acid buildup in the stomach or it did not properly consumed the condition is called acidity or acid reflux or heart burn.
Common Causes: Irregular eating times, Consumption of spicy and fried food, drinking of carbonated and caffeinated water, Smoking, Alcohol drinking, are common causes of acid reflux. Other causes may be stress and anxiety, pregnancy, and obesity.
Symptoms: Burning sensation in chest with sore through and sour taste, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, Blotting and Restlessness.
Natural Remedies:
1. Basil leaves: Chew 5 - 6 basil leaves after your meal or drink basil tea. You can boil a cup of water with 5 - 6 basil leaves for 15 minutes and drink it.
2. Chew clove: Chewing 2 – 3 cloves also relief from acid reflux discomfort
3. Drink Chilled Milk: If you have hyper acidity and heartburn then drink chilled milk. It will give you quick relief.
4. Cardamom Tea: Grind 2 – 3 cardamom and add into one cup of water. Boil this water for 15 minutes. Let it cool down at room temperature filter the water and drink for fast relief.
5. Cinnamon Tea: Take half tea spoon of cinnamon powder and add it into one cup of water. Boil this water for 15 minutes. Let it cool down at room temperature filter the water and drink it.
Seek medical attention: In case of worst symptoms you need to see your medical doctor immediately otherwise acid reflux or heart burn can causes esophageal injury.
1. Antacids as needed (Tums, Maalox) to neutralize acid
2. Histamine 2 receptor antagonists (Zantac, Pepcid) to decrease acid secretion
3. For severe or frequent acidity proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, lansoprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole, dexlansoprazole, rabeprazole) are recommend

8. Avoid drinking caffeinated drink such as coffee and black tea
9. Avoid eating large amount of meal that causes blotting or gas
10. Avoid sugar or sugary food
11. Avoid heavy exercise after having meal
12. Avoid drinking alcohol, and smoking they make symptoms worst
