As soon as you notice the presence of the symptoms, start the uti remedy regimen at once.
A urinary tract infection can be one of the most uncomfortable and painful varieties to have. The burning and pressure associated with a uti leaves you feeling as if you need to go every few minutes only to discover nothing comes out. While men do occasionally contract bladder infections, it is rare and uti's are considered primarily to be a female affliction.
Once you've had a bladder infection, you can detect the symptoms of the next one at the very onset. That is exactly when you need to implement a urinary tract infection remedy.
Bladder infections are caused by E. coli bacteria that take up residence in the vaginal area, then progress on to the urethra, which is the tube urine flows through during elimination.
As long as the bacteria remain in the vagina, they do not present a problem. It is when the bacteria enter into the urinary tract that the problems ensue. All women have the presence of bacteria in the vaginal area, yet some are more susceptible to infection from it than others are.
It is essentially the urine itself that is infected, and the bladder wall becomes irritated, similar to what the skin undergoes after a severe sunburn. The symptoms are feeling an extreme pressure and need to urinate, but finding nothing comes out when you try to go. When you do manage to eliminate even a small amount of urine, it burns and stings painfully. You know you need a uti remedy and you need it fast.
When you first experience the symptoms of a urinary tract infection, you need to use a urinary tract infection remedy to relieve the pain and discomfort as quickly as possible.
* A urinary tract infection very commonly used is cranberry juice. Research has proven that cranberry juice does work to provide a uti remedy; controversy remains among researchers as to why, but no matter. If it works, it works, and that is what counts when you need relief.
Drinking liquid to cleanse the body of impurities is a good solution anyway as a urinary tract infection remedy. The cranberry juice contains quinolic acid (is converted to hippuric acid in the liver) and vitamin C, both of which have a positive impact on bacteria and infection.
Dilute cranberry juice at a 2/3 juice to 1/3 water ratio and drink regularly as soon as the symptoms surface.
* Increase fluid intake. Many women rationalize that if they don't drink, they won't have to urinate, and they won't have to experience the burn. This is the worst strategy to take.
First, the urine is infected, so the longer the urine stays in the bladder, the faster the E. coli bacteria grows, which means more pain. The E. coli bacteria double their population approximately every 15-20 minutes, so regular flushing of the system with water and cranberry juice is essential.
You need to purge the bacteria out of the bladder. This is why it is important to relieve yourself when the body signals you to do so; urine should not be held inside the bladder. Go when your body says to go.
* Many women find relief by taking a hot, soothing and relaxing bath. Do not put anything in the water such as fragrances, bath oils, bubbles, and so forth. Just clean plain water and bathe with a pure soap such as Ivory. After the bath, put on clean, loose-fitting cotton clothing, and take a rest and watch television or read to relax.
* Vitamin C helps fight infection along with foods rich in anti-oxidants. Make sure your diet contains anti-oxidant rich foods anc vitamin C such as raspberries, blueberries, kiwi fruit, squash, tomatoes, bell peppers (red, green, orange, yellow), fresh spinach and broccoli, asparagus, and juices containing vitamin C (cranberry, grapefruit, orange, V-8 fusion). Avoid juices high in added sugars and high fructose corn syrup.
* Some women have reported that drinking a small bottle of inexpensive wine helps to flush the bacteria out of the bladder.
* Avoid caffeine, sugar, and chocolate while symptoms are present.
* In one of the eight 8-ounce glasses of water you should drink daily, add 2 tablespoons of Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda while symptoms are present.
* Buy the slender asparagus spears in the canned goods section of the grocery store. Chill in the refrigerator. Drain the liquid into a glass and drink it. Slide the asparagus onto a plate and eat right out of the can; there is no need to cook it. Do once daily while symptoms persist.
* Drink herbal teas such as chamomile, goldenseal, Uva-ursi (bearberry), juniper berries, and green tea varieties. Try herbal teas from extracts such as Cat's Claw, reishi (lingzhi) mushroom, and milk thistle.
