Milk Compress

Using cold milk will help numb the area and alleviate any pain. Make a milk compress by mixing four parts of cool (but not too cold) water to one part of milk. Soak some washcloths in this mixture and squeeze to remove excess milk. Apply this to the affected area until the cloth is dry or warms up. After you are done with the milk compress, wash the area with cool water to prevent your skin smelling like old milk.

Peppermint Tea

Neural irritation has been shown to worsen hives so it is vital to calm agitated nerves by drinking peppermint tea. You can purchase peppermint tea at the supermarket in teabag form, or make it yourself at home to avail of the nutrients found in fresh peppermint leaves. Remove the leaves from a spring of peppermint and rinse them in water. Bruise the leaves to release essential oils by rolling and squeezing them.
