Home Remedies For Hemorrhoids:

* There are several home remedies for hemorrhoids to alleviate the pain and lessen the swollen veins lining the anus. One of the home remedy for hemorrhoids is to prepare a warm bath for yourself. Fill in the tub with just about 5-6 inches of lukewarm water. It should just cover your buttocks and not your stomach and be careful not to use hot water because it can irritate the hemorrhoids and cause veins to swell up more. Do not add anything to the your bathing water; plain water will work wonders. Use this home remedy for hemorrhoids once a day for at least ten days. This kind of a bath is also known as a 'sitz bath'.

* For an easy home remedy for hemorrhoids, include daily intake of diet rich in fiber daily, because hemorrhoids may also be caused by a low fiber diet. A way to increase fiber in your diet is to add psyllium seeds to it, which are high in fiber and you will not need any other fiber supplement when you are using these. Psyllium seeds are available at nearly all herbal medicine stores. For the first week you are to take psyllium seeds in 8 ounces of water at breakfast time, then increase the intake to twice a day in the second week. By the third week, further increase the intake to 3 times a day. This should be enough to stop constipation and make it easier for you to pass stool and reduce pressure on the anus.

* To prevent hemorrhoids using home remedies, take extra steps to ensure hygiene after you have passed stool. Use a soft tissue to wipe off wiping your anus. Do not use anything that irritates the area like hard tissue, soap, creams etc. However, you can dab a tiny amount of Vaseline or any petroleum jelly onto a cotton wad and wipe the jelly on to the swollen veins. This eases the pain and also makes the area softer, thus less prone to pain or irritation.

* Apply an ice pack on the swollen veins for 10-15 minutes every day at least 4-5 times a day. You can also use a plastic ice bag, but its best to use something that is softer and does not have sharp or rough edges or anything that will irritate the skin. If the hemorrhoids are internal then use some ice frozen in ice pop molds. Also, to keep the area dry, you should apply cornstarch or baby powder to it so that it can absorb any moistness in the area. Absorb any moist by lightly dabbing cotton wads to the buttocks.
