As summer session begins and reaches up to its peak to blow and shower heat waves, it become harder to beat the heat. Due to lot of sweating your body looses a lot of water and minerals from your body. And that result dehydration, heat stroke, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and other heat related problems. Some homemade drinks are describe in this post are great summer coolers. They naturally works provide you enough water and minerals, protect you from dehydration, quenches your thirst, refresh your mood and help you a lot in tolerating the heat and heat stroke. You can beat the summer heat by drinking following drink.



1.      Lemon-water: It is also called or Lemonade or Nimbu Pani or Shikanji. This is the most common and economical summer drink, easy to make. You can add different things such as pinch of salt or black salt and sugar or honey, few drops of mint leave juice, or ginger juice, to make flavor as you want.  
  
2.      Coconut Water: Fresh coconut water is another best naturally, cooling and refreshing summer drink for summer days. It has natural fat, and no cholesterol, low in calories, more amounts of potassium ions than banana and super hydrating drink. It contains easily digested carbohydrate in the form of sugar and electrolytes. 

3.      Jaljeera: (Jal = water; Jeera = cumin) It is a spicy drink that refreshes, improve digestion and give you cooling effect from summer heat. Jaljeera It is a mixture of fresh green mint leaves paste; fresh green cilantro leaves paste, ginger, and roasted cumin seeds powder, pinch of asafetida, black salt, black pepper, lemon juice, tamarind, and sugar in chilled water.      

4.      Aam Ka Panaa: (Aam = unripe mango; ka panna = drink of) Aam ka panna is made from green unripe mangos, fresh mint leave paste, black salt, black pepper, sugar, or jiggery in chilled water. This drink help in quenching thirst, prevent excessive loss of salt, improve digestion and is a good source of vitamin B1, B2, niacin and vitamin C. 
   
5.      Sugarcane Juice or Ganne ka ras: This juice is extracted by pressing sugarcane in machine. Sugarcane juice gives instant kick of energy and quenches thirst. Sugarcane juice contains natural sugar, and mineral calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and manganese in it which rehydrate your body during summer. It taken in dilute form with iced water, with lime juice, black salt and or coconut water. Before, drinking it make sure it is extracted in hygienic manner.     

6.      Buttermilk or Chaas or Mattha or Salty Lassi: It is a very good refreshing drink for those who worked in long summer days or have spicy meal. It helps in diarrhea, improve your digestion. It can be flavored with roasted cumin powder curry leaves, grated ginger, green chili, salt or black salt, and asafetida. You can drink it with or without ice.      

7.      Lassi: Lassi is a yogurt-based drink, it is a blend of yogurt, water, ice, some spices, fruits (such as mango, strawberry and other fruits) and sugar or honey. Further it can be flavored by rose water or saffron. Lassi made from fresh yogurt contain with numerous beneficial bacteria those helps in digestion and kill harmful viruses. When you feel low energy level drink one glass of lassi, you will feel refresh. 8.      Fennel Seed Drink: Fennel seed drink is very easy to make. Just soak one fist of funnel seed in water for an hour and then drain off the water. Grind the seeds in mixture with water until it become very fine. Then filter through iron sieve and mix sugar and ice cube. This drink give relief from thirst from hot summer season and improve digestive system.    

9.      Khus Drink: Vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) is a perennial bunchgrass also known as Khus. Khus is a frangrance grass such as lemongrass and used as a flavoring agent through syrup.
